Santa Fe Concorso

The Santa Fe Concorso, a gathering of more than 100 rare and exotic cars and motorcycles, will take place in September at The Club at Las Campanas, a stunning development located just 15 minutes from the historic Plaza in downtown Santa Fe.

The Concorso, features a three-day celebration of mechanical motion. Day trips and seminars, an evening gathering at Hangar K at the Santa Fe Air Center, culminates with a judged exhibition of “rolling works of art,” including classic cars, racing champions and speed-record seekers, as well as legendary motorcycles on Sunday.

The opening Friday Night Gathering is an informal event for entrants and guests at Hangar K at the Santa Fe Air Center that will showcase a special speed display of vintage WW II Warbirds, racing cars and speed-record seekers.

Earlier that day, the Concorso kicks off a special tribute to Denise McCluggage, who lived in a world that few people could ever imagine. She will be joined by a life-long friend and racing legend Sir Stirling Moss to share memories of the era that Denise lived with the likes of Phil Hill, Denis Jenkins, Jo Bonnier, and Peter Collins just to name a few. We can only imagine who will join in during this special celebration.

On Saturday the focus turns to driving. Entrants will drive their classic vehicles and be treated to challenging roads and spectacular New Mexico scenery. While the mountain tour is for vehicle entrants only, members of the public can also hit the road as participants in the Open Road Tours, which take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday September 25 - 27.

The Concorso main event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, when the classic cars and motorcycles will be displayed on the 9th fairway at The Club at Las Campanas Sunrise Golf Course and in close proximity to the Clubhouse, where attendees will be surrounded by panoramic mountain views. A group of automotive expert judges will review the field and name class winners based on a vehicle’s elegance, authenticity, provenance and craftsmanship. Both VIP and public food concessions will be available as well as the popular Concorso merchandise.

There will be many stars in the field of vehicles, but some standouts include an assortment of C & D Type Jaguars, with special guest Norman Dewis, Jaguar’s legendary development and test driver from 1952 to 1984. Did we mention that Norman and Stirling Moss rode together in a C-type in the 1952 Mille Miglia.

The Santa Fe Concorso is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The success of The Santa Fe Concorso directly benefits youth organizations of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County. Visit the website.
